Love isn’t falling “in love”

Love isn’t “falling in love over night” - love takes years to build. When we first fall in love, the world becomes a more pleasant place. The sun shines a little brighter. The breeze blows a little warmer. But through the years it becomes raging storms - draughts - some times even cold as blizzards … But as time goes on and as we get to know that person on a deeper level, the mystery begins to dry up. The excitement becomes less exciting. Everything becomes routine - -

This is a pivotal point in any relationship. It’s the point where the love either dies or begins to grow into something more. And I almost lost the love. Letting it die and rot right under my feet….

True love is not a feeling, but a state of being.

Relationships, even loving ones, fail. People make mistakes. People change. People let their egos get the best of them and fail to be the partner, lover, friend, the one they care for deserves.

True love, however, isn’t an emotion. It isn’t a way of feeling. It’s a way of living.

It’s about being there for the one you love because you don’t see it any other way. And even more than that, it’s about doing your part to build a bond so strong that even when one of you leaves this earth, the love you two shared lives on.

Ultimately, true love isn’t found, stumbled upon or fallen into; true love is built, slowly and with great care….

As I sit and remembering the day we randomly took engagement photos in various places around Jason’s parents place / I’m taken back in so many ways.
