💓💗🩷 Hello February 🩷💗💓

February is the month of love. But not just any love. It’s a love that’s deep and lasting. It’s a love that’s willing to endure the cold and the snow for the sake of spring.

January was hard … but it didn’t last forever. { thank goodness 😅} February is always one of my favorite months. It’s short – it’s to the point. Most of the time it flies by because we’re calving & I travel a lot.

I’d be lying if I haven’t been affected the last 3 months. It’s starting to finally catch up to me. Lack of sleep. Lack of sunshine & being outside. Lack of “work” and having a “purpose” outside of being wife & mom. Lack of Nutrition – Lack of routine & structure – – I’ve been neglecting the one thing I shouldn’t be ….. myself.

So this morning I sat down. And I wrote. And wrote. And for the first time in a really long time … I feel better. I feel more at peace with things. I’ve talked to God. Cried. Prayed. And today. I woke up with little more purpose to “Chronicles of Kayla” ….

A simple shift in mindset. A reminder of “why” I even started writing & sharing my story nearly 10 years ago. And while I may never put that red bikini on stage again … I do find myself gravitating to that fire to rediscover myself through all this. What makes ME … well me?! And what confidence I found in heels and a sparkly red bikini … or when I was coming down an alley trusting a 1200 pound mare to not kill us … the confidence in KNOWIN my job as a Farmer & Hay Queen.

It’s funny how a simple reset …. Can change your mood & outlook. That just a little bit extra sleep & rest…. And maybe even some good carbs … can help.
