Wow what a week .. and in case you missed it – Jason and I went north for the last several days to hang out with our Massey Ferguson Team, in Iowa at the 2024 Farm Progress Show. in todays Episode of The Chronicles of Kayla we’re at the @FarmProgressDaily #FPS24 show in Boone Iowa […]

HayHEY! Welcome back to the Farm … I am super excited and gearing up for Farm Progress Show 2024 in Boone, Iowa coming later this month.. We have been keeping up with videos again, but I am wanting to go ahead and share our “Meet & Greet” Schedules since we will be floating between both […]

But it sure felt good to be back in the tractor seat this week – even if my stress levels nearly put Jason through the front windshield while I was trying to learn something NEW.
There’s a quote that has always stuck in my head – –
“You can only grow if you’re willing to feel awkward and uncomfortable when you try something new.” By Brian Tracy – –

Burnout is a really hard thing to grasp … and I’m not talking about throwing some rubber on a blacktop having a little too much fun. I

I am a VOICE in Ag. I am ONE of a Kind. I am a Female Farmer Sharing HER story. And I am so thankful, for the little reminder that it’s okay to be different and not be like the rest. It’s what makes me Authentically Me.

Sitting down to “write” became my journal after sis was born in 2015… I never “blogged” to make money. Heck I still don’t Vlog to make a living (I BALE HAY for that..) my hope & really only goal has always been to just share my story & return… maybe help one other person going through the same things in life.

Halfway through January… and I’ve already “missed” my goals. I’ve skipped my 4am alarms to get extra rest … The new planner isn’t filled in neatly – its half started & half colored in blank spaces. The momentum I imagined for January didn’t quite show up the way I thought I would be – . […]

– Change in 2026 Change doesn’t always look loud or dramatic. Sometimes it looks like pausing long enough to catch your breath — and choosing to move forward with intention. As 2025 wraps up, I’m taking a short step back to tie up loose ends, send the last chapters out the door, and reflect on […]

January 2026 — New Year, New Goals, Same Dirt Road Faith Chronicles of Kayla There’s something about stepping into January—the way a cold morning snaps you awake, the way a new calendar feels like turning the page on an untouched chapter. Out here on the farm, the world doesn’t magically slow down just because a […]

2026 — Grit, Grace & the Road Ahead There’s something about the quiet of a new year that feels holy. The calendar flips. The dust settles. And we stand at the edge of a dirt road once again—boots on, hands open, hearts a little weathered, but willing. 2025 was hard. Not the kind of hard […]

“I Never Win Anything…” I joke all the time that I never win anything. So the other day at the sale barn, they were celebrating Christmas with lunch from F&T Livestock—and let me just say, it was so good. One of those small-town, full-belly, everybody-gathered-around moments that feel like home. Earlier, Jason had asked if […]

Sunday at the Crossroads Sundays are supposed to be rest days.A pause.A breath.A holy exhale before the week begins again. So why does Sunday so often feel like the most exhausting day of all? By the time the sky turns colors like this—soft pinks and quiet golds stretching across the dirt road—we’re already tired. Not […]

Chronicles of Kayla Calm & Chaos Some mornings feel calm. Some days feel like complete chaos. And most days on the farm somehow manage to be both — all before noon. This photo was taken during one of those in-between moments. Cattle lined up at the bunk, heads down, quietly doing what they do every […]

Life Lessons Brought to you at the Sale Barn By Chronicles of Kayla There’s a certain smell, a certain hum, a certain heartbeat you only find at a sale barn. It’s the mix of fresh sawdust, hot coffee, diesel pickups, and decades of knowledge rolled into one dusty, echoing building. It’s where cattlemen — and […]

“When 40-hour weeks seemed long…”
I used to think an 8–5 was exhausting — until I traded a climate-controlled office for frozen eyelashes, 4 a.m. mornings, and farm chores that don’t stop for weekends or snowstorms.
I went from finance to full-time farmer… and somehow this “ALOT” feels lighter than any office job ever did.
The trade-offs? Hard.
The purpose? Holy.
The peace? Worth every frozen breath.
God’s timing > my plans. Always. 🤍

There’s something about stepping into December that feels a little like walking into a storm and a sanctuary at the same time. The air gets colder, the lists get longer, the days get shorter, and suddenly the world is shouting hustle while our hearts whisper slow down. But friend… we weren’t built for the madness […]
