✨ Monday Morning Gratitude — Blog Post ✨

How Far We’ve Come…

added new bunk lines

There’s something about a Monday morning on the farm — the quiet hum of chores, the breath of cold air, the way the sun hits the fields — that makes me pause and look back at how far we’ve truly come.

When I started Chronicles of Kayla, I was in a completely different season. We were young in our journey, still figuring out systems, routines, balance… and honestly, survival. So much of life back then felt like running on fumes and grit, hoping we were doing enough to keep up, yet never feeling like we were ahead.

Over the years, our story has been written one hard day, one prayer, one small victory at a time. And today, I’m filled with gratitude for just how far the Lord has brought us.

One of those small-but-big victories?
Updating our bunk line.
It may look like just concrete and steel to some, but to us, it’s growth. It’s progress. It’s choosing not to stay stuck in the same place — physically, mentally, or spiritually.

For years, chores meant extra steps, extra time, and extra frustration. That’s farm life, sure, but that doesn’t mean we’re meant to stay in the same ruts forever.
So we built. We improved. We simplified.
We made the everyday easier so we could make the big things possible.

And standing there this morning — sun on my face, new bunk line ready for the next season — I felt proud.
Not of perfection, but of progress.
Not of being “done,” but of being faithful with what God gives us and doing the best we can with it.

Because the truth is:
You can’t stay in the same place and expect to grow.
Not in farming.
Not in life.
Not in your walk with God.

Growth happens when we’re willing to change, willing to try, and willing to trust.

So here’s to the Mondays that remind us where we started.
Here’s to the little upgrades that make big differences.
Here’s to the long roads that lead to gratitude.
And here’s to God, who guides every step — even the ones through mud, dust, broken boards, and busted bunk lines.

Happy Monday, friends.
Keep growing. Keep going. Keep giving thanks.
There’s always something to be grateful for out here.
